Jason Lipshutz

Editor

Jason is the executive director of music at Billboard, where he has written about music for over a decade and penned cover stories on Taylor Swift, U2, Blink-182, Lorde, Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons, among others. The most satisfying part of his professional life is that no two days are ever the same: Jason writes and edits for both Billboard magazine and Billboard.com, typically about pop and rock music; works across teams to assist with comprehensive coverage for all genres, with an emphasis on new and upcoming projects; supports multimedia initiatives across social, audio, video and events teams; and studies pop trends to help identify storytelling opportunities. He has appeared on Access Hollywood, Good Morning America, TODAY, Entertainment Tonight and several other broadcast programs. His first book, 'It Starts With One: The Legend and Legacy of Linkin Park,' was published through Hachette Books in 2024. Jason is constantly in awe of his colleagues and their outstanding work, as well as perpetually convinced that this is the year that the Philadelphia 76ers will win it all. He lives in New Jersey — Nutley forever. He always wants to talk about music with everyone.
